with strings live at town hall Eels Live With Strings Things The Grandchildren Should KnowA moment of beauty…Just for the sake of it.

In 2005 the prolific and terrific Mark Oliver Everett gathered a troop of musicians and hit the road for what is now known as one of his most beautiful collection of live performances so far: The Eels Live With Strings. Among the dates and the songs (which can all be found on a DVD/CD), Things The Grandchildren Should Know stands out. Because the eponymous album will probably always stay as Mark’s true intimate masterpiece. Because it’s the song in which he makes peace with his father and because it carries on its lovely melody the most universal lyrics ever written in the history of American songwriting.

My work has always been about judging between American reality and American dream”.

One of Springsteen’s finest piece of work so far and a depiction of today’s America that will surely speak to the entire Western world…feels like Born In The USA version 2012.
