KellyP high res 194x300 The Fox Questionnaire Kelly Pardekooper

Kelly Pardekooper took the Fox Questionnaire. Here’s the result.

Has a song ever saved your life?
Saved my life… that’s hard, wow! Elliott Smith’s Angeles on XO. I don’t know if I would say that it saved my life but it definitely changed my life. I never got to see him, I wish I could have.

You’re an instrument. What are you and who’s playing you?
I’m a 1952 Gibson G-45, Bo Ramsey is playing me.

You make music because…
It’s like breathing. I have to. It took me a long time to get to that and now it’s like I have no choice, I have to.

Which song is stuck in your head right now?
Elliott Smith now! But the song in my head is Between The Bars.

What makes you mad, what calms you down?
Too much noise. I get aggravated when there’s too much chaotic, loud noise.
Hiking in the hills here is what calms me down.

The most beautiful sound to your ears?
E chord on an acoustic guitar is for me the most beautiful sound of all.

And the ugliest one?
Crying children.

You can ask anyone one question. What is it?
I would probably ask God if there’s more than just this. I get older, I start to wonder. I try to do the best I can but I wonder if this is it.

Your best live memory?
Take Root Festival in Holland. It was a very big show. I had a whole band, it was great. It was the biggest show that I’ve done, like 10 thousand people. For me it’s pretty big, generally the rooms that I play are gonna be 200 to 500 seats clubs. We did well and it was my first tour in Europe.

The best advice you could give anyone?
The best advice I try to give people when they ask, musicians or otherwise, is to try to treat people well.
